Lisa Carol Dean

Lisa Carol Dean, 57, passed away on December 23, 2013 in Green Cove Springs, FL. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on June 13, 1956 where she remained a lifelong resident. Lisa is preceded in death by her father C. Lamar Dean, Jr. Her survivors include her mother, Helen M. Dean, brother, George L. Dean (Sandra), niece, Lauren C. Dean, and nephew George L. Dean, Jr. Lisa was a lifelong member of San Jose Episcopal Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She graduated from Wolfson High School in 1974 and went on to attend Florida State University from 1974-1976. She enjoyed swimming, diving, and fishing with her family and friends.

In 1976 she was involved in a near fatal car accident which left her paralyzed. After the accident, Lisa spent most of her time at her family home. She continued to enjoy listening to music and reading. Lisa’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Lisa was an inspiration to everyone by the way she lived her life. She was strong, courageous, and devoted to the Lord. Always positive and a fighter, Lisa battled through her disability until the very end.

The family will receive friends from four o’clock until six o’clock in the evening on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at The Oaklawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at ten o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 30, 2013 at San Jose Episcopal Church, 7423 San Jose Blvd, 32217 with The Reverend Steph Britt officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
