Lora Lane Lyon

Lora Laine Anderson Lyon peacefully entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Born on January 15, 1942, she grew up in Nicholls, Georgia. She attended Florida State University on a nursing scholarship where she met and married Boyd E. Lyon in 1961. She lived in Jacksonville, Florida until her husband retired and moved to Tryon North Carolina. She loved nothing more than to be with her family and her dogs. She was a proud mother of three children, Boyd E. Lyon, Jr., David Charles Lyon, and Lora Anderson (Sissy) Lyon Foshee. A proud grandmother of three and great-grandmother of two.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Anderson, as well as her son, David Charles Lyon; and her daughter, Lora Anderson (Sissy) Lyon Foshee. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Boyd E Lyon Sr.; son, Boyd E Lyon Jr.; a brother, David Anderson and wife Laurie; grandchildren, John Pate Foshee Jr., Elizabeth Foshee Brannock, and Laine Lyon Foshee; as well as great-grandchildren, Lora Anderson Brannock, and Jonathan Reed Brannock.

She was a member of The Tryon Presbyterian Church. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at ten o’clock in the morning at The Oaklawn Chape, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida,. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to The Mayo Clinic Foundation or Toys for Tots.
