

Lorraine was born on May 17, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Salem and Siham Akel. She graduated from Riverside (Robert E. Lee) High School in 1982 with a remarkable 12-year perfect attendance record. Lorraine went on to work at Johns Eastern Insurance Company as an office administrator for 23 years, followed by a role as a distribution clerk with Sodexo for the past 9 years.
Lorraine was known for her love of Hallmark movies and her unwavering dedication to her family. In recent years, she cherished her role as Titi to her two beloved grandchildren, Cora and Rowan. She also adored her long-time cat, Miss Kitty, and found great joy in feeding the ducks and squirrels outside her home, a simple pleasure that brought happiness to both her and those around her.
Lorraine is predeceased by her late husband, Jerry Tadlock, and her sister, Sandy Akel. She is survived by her parents, Salem and Siham Akel; her daughter, Heather (Colin) Tadlock; her sisters, Jean (Iskander) Martha, Linda (Dan) Althouse, and Marsha (Eric) Martin; her two grandchildren, Cora and Rowan; her six nephews, Tony Martha, Chris Martha, Owen Althouse, Jake Martin, and Luke Martin; and her partner of 13 years, Frank Michaelangelo.
A visitation for Lorraine will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1773 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32210, with a committal service to immediately follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
