

Lottie Schwartz Kolb, 89, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in Monticello, NY, on Armistice Day, November 11, 1923, to Max and Sophie Schwartz, and was the youngest of four children. She graduated two years early from high school in Brooklyn and became a legal secretary in Manhattan. On April 15, 1945, Lottie married Dr. Herbert Robert Kolb, who would be her beloved husband for 64 years.
Mrs. Kolb was a 43-year survivor of breast cancer and was grateful for every day of life. She was devoted to her family and was active in Hadassah and in the Sisterhood of Temple Rodef Sholom in Newport News, VA. She loved opera, Broadway and travel. In 2001, she and Dr. Kolb moved to The Carriage Club in Jacksonville and became members of the Jacksonville Jewish Center.
Mrs. Kolb was predeceased by her husband in 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Millie Tannen (Edward) and Claudia Zaritsky (Irving) and by her four grandchildren, Samuel Tannen, Jonathan Tannen, Steven Zaritsky (Christy), and Sharon Zaritsky.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 11:30 am at New Center Cemetery, 43rd & Liberty St., Jacksonville, FL 32206. Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner will officiate.
