Louise, often affectionally called “Mrs. D”, was born in Chattanooga TN on January 26, 1930. She lived most of her young life with her mom Annie Hewett in Anniston, Alabama where she graduated from high school in 1948. So much can be said about her life, but the single most important was her love of family. Best described as a loving mother and loving wife who always put others ahead of herself. She enjoyed playing Rummikub, and was a member of the Westminster Ladies Mahjong Club. For many years she made quilts for donation and family members. She was a retired member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church.
Mrs. D was married to her faithful loving husband, George W. Dickinson for 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Francis Henderson.
Louise is survived by her husband; loving children, Kathy Ann Perkins (Chip) of Inwood WV, Gregory Wallace Dickinson (Kristy) of Easley SC, and Gary Walter Dickinson (Rachel) of Peachtree City GA; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank the healthcare staff at Westminster Woods Health Center for their generous care.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made online to the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org or sent to Arthritis Foundation Attn: Jacksonville Market 1355 Peachtree Street, N.E. Suite 600, Atlanta GA 30309. Please reference Louise H. Dickinson if sending a check or select “dedicate this donation to Louise H. Dickinson” if donating online and add a note which states “Restrict to Jacksonville Market.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11am at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
