Born on July 19, 1948 in Anniston Alabama, Mae was the beloved Daughter of Marcus and Flossie Herrin. She was raised in foster care after the death of her parents and two brothers in her teen years, and eventually moved to Indiana. She met her husband Fred (Skip) Rahaim in South Bend, Indiana at a restaurant named Frankie’s Pizza Parlor. Skip and Mae had an instant connection and were married in August of 1969. Mae was a dedicated wife and mother, teaching her children the value of hard work, discipline and enjoying activities we loved to do like dance, piano, singing, soccer and good times with friends and family. Mae retired from the IRS after a long career. Mae was a carefree person who loved to laugh, read, and spend quality time with her family and friends. Mae was known for her sense of humor, her deep religious and family values, and for always having a smile on her face. Mae was a very kind and generous person. She had a deep passion for movies, reading, and family recipes at holiday time. She loved date nights with her husband when they went out to their favorite restaurants. Mae found the most joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren even across the miles.
Mae is survived by her children, Dena Ann-Marie Sandy, Todd Anthony Rahaim, and Nicholas Joseph Rahaim, her husband Fred (Skip) Joseph Rahaim Jr, and her grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Laviolette, Brody James Rahaim, Noah Joseph Rahaim, and Zack Sandy as well as, her grand-dogs Buddy, Scooby, Zoe, Link, and Neo.
