Mallory grew up in Jacksonville and was a gifted athlete, musician, chef, and artist. When she was ten, she practiced Karate. She also surfed and loved to skateboard. She played soccer and Travel Team Softball with the Thunderbolts where she was nicknamed “Spark Plug”. She was a devoted and champion distance runner at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville where the comradery she felt with her teammates and the respect for her Coaches was one of the highlights of her life. Family was very important to her. She frequently spoke of how much she loved her family to all her friends, and she was thrilled to have friends over to her parents’ home to celebrate Easter, Thanksgiving, Birthdays, and Christmas. She shared a special bond with her uncle, Lt. Colonel Fred P. Wellman (Ret.), who provided her with trusted support and advice at all times of the day and night and sometimes from the other side of the world. Her friends remember her as a bright light and loving soul who helped them through tough times. With them, she was famous for writing and singing her own music to perform in public. She was also known to “throw down’ in the kitchen to provide home-cooked meals for friends who were far from home. She cared for the people in her life. Mallory maintained her faith in Christ and was recently Baptized for a second time in her life at Eleven 22 Church.
There have been many organizations that have helped our family and Mallory over the years. There are two organizations we would like to recognize: Project WARM at the Vince Carter Sanctuary, 301 Justice Lane Bunnell, FL 32110 and House of Joy Ministries, 306 S Railroad Street Bunnell, FL 32110. Donations in Mallory’s memory would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mallory on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Hardage Giddens Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223.
