Marc Devere Chenault

CHENAULT, Marc Devere, 49, slipped the bonds of Earth on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 to arrive on the shores of Heaven to be with both his earthly and heavenly fathers.

A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 Edgewood Ave S. Jacksonville, Fl., with the Rev. James McDaniel and Rev. Craig Williams officiating at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 17, 2015 and burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. For friends and family, a viewing will precede one hour prior to service from 12:00-1:00 pm. The family has asked that if you have any Florida State Seminoles, Dallas Cowboys, or UNC Tar heels attire to please wear in honor of Marc.

Marc was born in Beaufort, SC. on May 26, 1966 to George and Marianne Chenault. He was educated in the schools of Beaufort, SC and attended Baptist College in Charleston, SC. Marc went on to fulfill his passion to help people and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Funeral Service from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. Marc served the Jacksonville community for many years as one of the local funeral directors. He eventually went on to work for Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes serving as one of the lead embalmers for 8 years. He was truly a southern gentleman and an avid North Carolina Tar Heel Basketball fan, Florida State Seminoles, and Dallas Cowboys football fan. To know Marc was to love him.

Marc is preceded in passing by his Father: George Simon Chenault. Survived by his loving Wife: Janine Marie Craig Chenault; Mother: Marianne Drew Chenault; Sister: Alvera Torian Chenault Anthony; Nieces: Joe’l Simone and DeAnne Renee Anthony. Step-children: Heather Nichole Coffman (Rufus), Lindsey Michele Henderson (Joey), Tiffany Allexis Henderson, and Allen Craig Henderson, II. Mother-in-law: Virginia Craig

Aunts: Jeanne Effinger of Beaufort, SC., Sandra Williams (Carl) & Cynthia Drew of Erie, PA and Ruby Dozier of Brooklyn, NY. Uncles: Marion Chenault (Irethea) of Ellicott City, MA, Ronald Drew of Erie, PA. , Asa Drew of Elcerrito, CA.; Barry Drew of Mechanicbury, PA, and Godmother: Ruth Collier of Beaufort, SC.

Sister-in-laws: Rebecca Meuschke (John); Judy Craig (Julie); and Jennifer Lott (Darryl).

Mother and Father in law: Patricia and Gary Craig.

Grandchildren: Jose “J”, Jerami, Royce, and Jayce.

Friend and cousin Lawrence “Larry” Goodwin along with many beloved cousins, extended family, and several very dear friends. Marc never said bye he always said “Peace”.
