

St Johns, FL- Maria Rebecca “Becky” Blomquist, 83, was called to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. She was born on Saturday May, 15th 1937 in Weslaco, Texas. She attended Pan American University and she worked as a book keeper for the Arch Diocese San Antonio, as a bank teller, and in the cost accounting department and travel coordinator departments for Harris Corporation. She was the wife of Graham, “Butch” Blomquist, and as an Air Force Officer’s wife she lived in Okinawa (Japan), Germany and extensively traveled before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska, Satellite Beach, Florida, Melbourne, Florida and retired in St Johns, Florida. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Becky was an ardent Seminole fan and a member of the Seminole Booster Club, she was an active member of the Mandarin United Methodist Church (MUMC). At various churches she was a member of she served as a wedding day coordinator, counted the money for Sunday services, cooked for the Wednesday night service dinners and participated in cooking for special events. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout mom and home room mom numerous times. She was the social coordinator or treasurer for the many organizations she belonged to. Becky also worked as poll worker in Brevard County and St Johns County and was active in her community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacinto and Natalia Lozano Gonzalez. Her son, Robert Blomquist, her brothers Luis, Armando, Raul, George and Jacinto Gonzalez, Jr.; sisters Consuelo Gonzalez, Olga Reyes, Eva Molina and Teresa Ruiz. She leaves behind, her loving family, her husband, Graham “Butch” Blomquist, her sons Michael and Gary Blomquist, her daughter, Sandi Capra, her brother Eddie Gonzalez, sister, Mary Alice Baron and her grandchildren, Taylor and Alexis Carpenter, Geoffrey and Corey Blomquist, Joshua Harrell and Serena Flatt and numerous friends.
A memorial, celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, EST Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mandarin United Methodist Church, 11270 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223 presided over by Pastor Jeff St. Clair. The service will be live streamed via WebEx at the following link:
