Mariam Matonus Joseph

JOSEPH - Mariam Safar Joseph passed away after a brief illness. She is the widow of George Joseph and is survived by three sons; Joe (Ebtissam), Norman (Tracy), William (Wafaa) and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are her five brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Saint Anne’s Circle. She was a past member of the Molaka Club as well the Syrian Women’s Charity Society.

A loving and generous woman, Mary always had a kind word for everyone. She was always a gracious and welcoming hostess, and her simple and good-natured personality always left one feeling better. May she rest at peace in the Lord’s loving arms.

There will be a viewing on Monday evening, June 13, 2016 at 6:00 pm with a Rosary service following at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Peace Syriac Catholic Church, 5854 University Blvd. W., Jacksonville, FL 32216. The funeral will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207 on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the St. Mary’s section of Evergreen Cemetery. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. assisting the family.
