Martha Ellis Coleman

Martha Ellis Coleman was born to Simon and Anna Ellis on February 8, 1915 in Brooklyn, Mississippi. She grew up with her sister Ruby on the family farm. Her daughter, Tessie, was born on June 11, 1931. Martha later moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met Albert Coleman. They were married on July 27, 1942 in St. Augustine, Florida. Martha and Albert were active members of the Central Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. Martha passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Jacksonville at the age of 102.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Anna Ellis; her sister Ruby Ellis Merrill; her daughter Tessie C. White; and her husband Albert Coleman. She is survived by her grandchildren Gregory V. White (Charlotte), Zachary A. White (Gina), Stacy A. White (Lyn), Kelsey D. White (Dian) and Kay W. Blount (Kelly); great-grandchildren Emma, Brittany, Jamie, Marcia, Monica, Jonathan, Jasmine, Justin, Kelci-leanne, Amber and Ian; great-great grandchildren Zane, Zion and Danielle; special cousin Linda Grant and family; special niece Sara Batts; and a host of other cousins and family members.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00am at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7021 New Kings Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32219.
