Marvin Russell “Russ” Ryals, 71, passed away December 11, 2016. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, he was born September 20, 1945. He retired as an insurance agent and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed music.
Family members include his wife of 21 years, Cynthia Cape Ryals; sons, William “Billy” (Jennifer) Bond, Stephen (Kristen) Bond and Wesley (Jamie) Bond; grandchildren, Lauren, Hailey, Rylan, Luke, Ledger; great-granddaughter, Michaela; nephews, Jeff (Pam) Ryals, and their kids, Trent and Melissa, Mike Ryals and son, Jeremy, and his children, Michelle and Emma; cousins, Danese and Sandra; and many extended family. He is predeceased by his brother, George Harrell Ryals (Bernice), and grandson, Michael. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Malibu and Luann, for all their care.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00am, at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, www.hardagegiddensoaklawnchapel.com.
