EVANS, Mary W. Evans, 86, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009. Mrs. Evans was born in Timmonsville, S.C. and had resided in Jacksonville most of her life. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church and had retired from the Duval County School System as a secretary. Mrs. Evans was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, G.W. “Bill” Evans in 2004. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mable E. (David) Colson and Peggy Sue Evans; 3 grandsons: David G. “Scooter” (Kelly) Colson, Jeff (Kelli) Colson and Eric (Kimberly) Jones; 4 great grandchildren: Haley Jones and Hunter, Ryder & Evan Colson; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 25 in the chapel of COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave., with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday (TODAY) at the funeral home.
