Mary Norman Floyd was born January 15, 1929, and passed away November 4, 2021. She was privately interred at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary was born in Waycross, Ware County, Georgia. Her parents were Leslie Newton Norman and Frances (Fannie) Novenia Rodgers. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Roger L. Norman, and her son, John Leslie Floyd. She began her teaching career in Ware County. She graduated from Jacksonville University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. In 1969, she completed a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. She enjoyed a long career as a Second Grade teacher at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. She retired from the Duval County School System in 1986. She was a patient person with a warm smile for everyone she met.
