Michael was born on June 22, 1963 in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Sandalwood High School, while climbing and cutting trees for Big Ben’s Tree Service. Then his career launched in the tire business, where he became known as 'Tire Pump'! Mike had many trades and skills. He was always lending a hand to any of his friends with their businesses around Jacksonville and other surrounding cities.
Michael is survived by his parents, Carol and Steve Knapik; his siblings, Kenny Knapik (Connie), Karen Knapik (John), Richard Knapik (Nelda); nephews and nieces, KJ Knapik (Sebastian), Steven Knapik, Ashley Lester (Robert), Wendy Perry (John), Tori Tremblay (Corbin); and four grand nieces and nephews. Also, the love of his life, Liz; her children Jacob, Abigail (Joseph); beloved grandchildren, Mason Reid and Madison Rae; and Blade, his four-legged best friend, work buddy, and sidekick that stayed with him always.
Michael, Mike, Hip, Tire Pump, Hippie, TP, Pump, T Pop, loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved bragging and sharing pictures of his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Mike always looked forward to the holidays, a chance to dress up with Liz and go to church with his parents and family. Afterwards he would make his rounds to other close friends’ houses to celebrate, enjoying dinners, and good times. He stayed on the GO, whether it was riding his Texas Chopper motorcycle, hunting, fishing, traveling, NASCAR, FSU, Jaguar football games, of course ALL watering holes, and his latest greatest, BINGO, any place in town, one of his favorite sayings at the end of every game was “I missed it by just one!” Michael’s presence would be announced with his booming recognizable voice, he was a big man, with a big heart, a LEGEND, a ONE of ONE! His favorite quote was “DO IT!!!!”
