Mildred Lee Patti, affectionately known as Mickey or YaYa, passed away peacefully in her home in Jacksonville on October 14. Born in the Batesburg-Leesville area of South Carolina, she brought warmth and love to all who knew her.
Mickey married William Patti, the owner of Patti’s Restaurant, and together they shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage. They raised four beloved children: Pat, Lisa (Greg), Jim (Lori), and John (Tammy). Mickey was a consummate hostess; friends and family alike never left her home hungry. Her elegance and style endeared her to many, making her a cherished figure in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.
A talented seamstress, cook, and baker, Mickey took great pride in her family traditions. Her professionally decorated cakes and stunning floral arrangements added joy to family gatherings and holidays. Her home was a constant hub of love, where everyone felt welcome. Mickey’s greatest pride and joy was her family, and she was fiercely dedicated to them, whether near or far.
She had a unique ability to make everyone feel at home, never hesitating to open her door to family, friends, and neighbors in need of a place to stay, a meal, or simply a warm cup of coffee. To her children and grandchildren, she was more than just a mother; she was a second mom to nieces, nephews, friends, and neighborhood kids.
Mickey is predeceased by her husband, William J. Patti; her son, James J. Patti; her brothers, Dennis and Ray; and her sister, Carla. She is survived by her children Pat, Lisa, and John; her sister, Ann; her grandchildren Jessi, Ashley, Sarah, Nicholas, Sean, Kathleen, and Michael; and many beloved great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, at 10 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church, located at 742 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207
