It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Milton Clyde Wilson in his home on the morning of May 21, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on June 25, 1938, in Miami, Florida, to Clyde Thomas Wilson and Edith Marguerite Griffin Wilson.
Milton was a beloved spouse, father, brother, and friend. Driven by an unwavering love for his family, a genuine fondness for all people, and a deep faith, he continuously spread joy through his good-natured humor and selfless acts of service to God.
A former Navy Veteran and dedicated father and husband, Milton worked for 40 years as a conductor with FEC Railroad to provide for his family. In his off time, he dedicated himself to service as an Elder to the Worldwide Church of God. After retiring to Jacksonville, Florida, Milton focused his time on cherished family and friends and also found great joy in rescuing and caring for animals in need.
He had a great love for his Scotch-Irish ancestry, music, and culture, spending countless hours tracing his family tree and attending festivals and clubs that promoted Irish and Scottish American traditions. When he was not carousing with other Highlanders or enjoying time with family, Milton could be found solving crossword puzzles, watching old films, listening to musical greats like Elvis, Sinatra, and George Jones, or reading the funnies in The Florida Times Union. He also enjoyed a good biography on famous historical figures, an Edgar Rice Burroughs novel, and studying the Holy Bible.
Milton C. Wilson is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Harriet Kliesch Wilson; their children, Pamela Jane, Stephen Michael, Cherie Ann, Tracy Jean, Juliua Lynn, Ginger Leigh, Jesse Tyrone, and Tonya Marie; five sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two dogs, and four cats. He is also survived by his siblings, James Roger, Martha Ann, Orville (Butch) Glen, Carolyn, Linda Sue, Twyla Joy, Vicki Yvonne, Bonnie Jo, and Donna Gail; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Thomas Wilson and Edith Marguerite Wilson; siblings Helen Joyce, Diane, Joan Marie, and Thomas Edward; and faithful companions Chewy, Sparky, and Ralphie.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th, from 5 PM to 7 PM, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32211. The funeral service will take place the following day on Monday, June 9th, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Rickard officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
