Daughter Kelly Lynn Roberts, her son-in-law Randall (Wayne) Stafford, her son James Ray
Strickland Jr. (Jimmy) her husband Els Roberts (Bob) and her great Granddaughter Khloe
Elizabeth Creel, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Pat Stafford, her daughter Karen Strickland (Tom Mylod), her
son Hank Strickland, and her daughter Adrian Roberts Creel. 10 Grandkids: Randy Stafford
(Annette) Kenny Stafford, Erin Martin, Karey Strickland, James Strickland, Jamie Strickland,

Davis (Zach), as well as 7 Great Grandkids and 2 Great-Great Grandkids.
Minnie was born Minnie Mae Wilson, daughter of Joe & Minnie Hendrix Wilson. She was raised
in Nahunta Georgia. She was the youngest of 7 children, all of whom preceded her in death.
after graduating high school, she eloped & married her first love James (Ray) Strickland. Minnie
and Ray moved around before settling down in Jacksonville Florida to raise their 4 children.
sadly, in 1962 Ray was tragically killed in an automobile accident at the young age of 35. In
1964 she met and married Els Roberts (Bob). They were married until his passing in 2006.
Minnie and Bob welcomed 2 additional girls to the family.
Minnie was a wonderful Mother, Wife and Granny. She was loving and compassionate and very
funny. Although she worked outside of the home several times including The Times Union
where she excelled greatly, she was the ultimate caregiver at heart. She loved her family deeply
and made her life’s mission taking care of her children and others who needed her including
Shirley Swoner, whom they had custody of for 5 years and raised as their daughter and Courtney
LeMay and Amanda LeMay who were loved as their own Grandkids.
It is nearly impossible to summarize what mom meant to so many people. She was called
“Mom” by too many to count and was a granny to everyone. She was Bunch to her friends and
family in Georgia and Mrs. Roberts to all our neighbors and regardless of which name she was
for you, you knew she was special. She was a great woman, a strong & wise person, a cut up
and jokester, a best friend, a favorite Aunt and she will be loved, remembered and sorely
missed.
Services will be held at 11:30AM on March 11, 2023 with a visitation 1 hour prior in the chapel of
Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32208 with the burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
