

MSgt (Ret) Fredrick W. Wilson, 76, lost his battle with cancer on October 20, 2024, at his home in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 16, 1948, to the late Fred and Bernice Wilson in Jacksonville.
After graduating high school in 1966, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served for 20 years. A patriotic veteran, he completed two tours in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he pursued a second career as an electrician, following in his father’s footsteps.
Fred loved God, his family, and his country. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking on any project he could tackle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia; one son, Justin Wilson; three daughters, Ana Henderson (Kenny), Ami McGowan, and Amanda Rivera Wilson (Eddie); and ten grandchildren: Ariel Wilson, Alexandria Wilson, Anastasha Wilson, Austin Wilson, Zachary Gibs, Matthew McGowan, Nicholas McGowan, Abigail Harmon, Colton Harmon, and Ava Rivera Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bernice Wilson, and his brother, Thomas Wilson (Sherrie).
Fred was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The service is open to all.
