

Murray was born January 11th, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Samuel Tilden High School and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Murray married Barbara Freeman on February 29th, 1964, and they spent 58 wonderful years together. Murray worked as an electrical designer in New Jersey for companies that included Johnson & Johnson and Best Foods. After relocating to Jacksonville, he worked for a local engineering company with clients that included Maxwell House and NASA.
The family used to joke that there was no room in the house for all the Band-Aids, Hellman's Mayonnaise, and coffee. Rockets in the house were completely out of the question. Murray was a lifelong New York Giants fan and was among the first season ticket holders for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Murray was predeceased by his wife Barbara and is survived by his sons: Lawrence (Stacey), and Robert (Debra), and Stephen (Nicole); grandchildren: Jessica, Brandon (Lindsay), Jarred, Joshua, and Zachary; and great-grandchildren: Asher, Elliott, and Olyver.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2025 at 10:30am at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel & Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Hardage-Giddens is in charge of the arrangements.
