Nancy grew up in Syracuse, New York and graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School. She then attended Nursing School and became an LPN. Nancy married her High School Sweetheart; Dennis Burchill Jr. and they were together for 53 years until his death in 2004. The couple settled in Jacksonville, Florida where they raised their 5 children.
Nancy led an active life. She served on the board of the Forrest High Band Boosters, was a member of Eastern Stars, and sang in her church choir, often as a featured soloist, and worked with the Mended Hearts. Nancy was an avid bridge player and played with several clubs in Jacksonville.
Nancy’s favorite pastime was singing. She joined Jacksonville Harmony Show Chorus, the local chorus of Sweet Adelines International, and sang with them for more than 3 decades. On the management side, she served as president for a term, but her greatest joy was performing with the chorus in shows and in competitions at both the regional and international levels. She was happy to share her passion for singing and got her daughters Nancy, Pat, and Kathy, singing with the chorus, too. Nancy also enjoyed singing in quartets and even sang in a couple of quartets with her daughter, Pat.
Nancy is survived by her daughters , Nancy Werner, Pat Nodurft, Kathy Budd, Lynda Trammell, her son Dennis Burchill III, eight grandsons, two granddaughters, and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers’ research at this link.
