Nancy Creswell Major

Nancy Creswell Major, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 13 2025. Born on December 15, 1941 in McCormick, South Carolina, she is the daughter of the late Horace and Sudie Creswell of Plum Branch, South Carolina.

Nancy married Carl Franklin Major, Sr from McCormick, South Carolina, on September 4, 1960. They were married for 64 years. Carl passed away on December 11, 2024.Nancy worked for Southeast Toyota, a division of JM Family Enterprises, for 30 years. She raised four children, sometimes single-handedly, while her husband was out to sea with the United States Navy. Nancy was the consummate baker, always making baked goods for family, co-workers, and neighbors. Her later years were spent providing constant love and care for her husband. Nancy was devout Christian and enjoyed her daily bible reading.

She is survived by her 3 sisters, Rosemarie Blackburn, Jean Williams and Linda Mayson; two daughters, Joy Kelly (Russell) and Nell Musal (Scott); two sons, Carl Major (Joy) and Todd Major (Christine); four granddaughters, Jessica Kelly, Sarah Major, Samantha Kelly (Timothy) and Hannah Musal; four grandsons, Austin Major (Lucy), Maxwell Major (Peyton), Andrew Major, and Turner Musal (Emily) and great-grandchild Miles Thomas Major.

A service will be held at Fruit Cove Baptist Church on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Nancy will be remembered for her dedication to her faith, family and her love for cooking.
