Norma Jean Kennedy

Norma Jean “Jeanie” Kennedy passed away at home on September 1, surrounded by loving family. Jeanie was born October 19, 1942, in Taylorsville, Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents, Weeden and Margaret Chatman. She and her loving husband Ken were married for over 54 years and lived in Jacksonville since 1976. They also lived in Louisville, Kentucky; Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; and Baltimore, Maryland. She was a friend to all who knew her. She was grounded in her faith in God and an unwavering love for her kids and grandkids. She was well known for her enthusiasm for family celebrations and for her amazingly artistic cookies which she shared generously. Her memory will live on through her husband, Ken, her children, Bob Kennedy and wife, Amy of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Becky Souza and husband, Dave, of Marion, Iowa; her grandchildren, Adam and Spencer Kennedy, Tyler Souza and Jillian Souza Ashworth. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 07, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32223. A memorial service will be held at Beulah Land Baptist Church, 9007 Prospect Ave, Louisville, KY at a later date.
