Norman “Pete” Williams, 90, passed away March 28, 2011 in Keystone Heights, FL. Pete was born November 1, 1920 in Atlanta, GA. Pete grew up in Jacksonville and attended Bolles Military Academy. After graduating in 1938, he learned to fly from Laurie Yonge at the old Jacksonville Hart Field. He served with 124th Infantry of the Florida National Guard for 3 years. He entered the Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Aviatrix Lesley Stroud in 1942. He was a command pilot in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. In 1976, he retired from the Air Force and moved to Melbourne, FL. He was active in the Melbourne Azan Shrine and Suntree United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and the best dad in the world. Pete was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Lesley Stroud Williams in 1997; his wife of 9 years, Lucille Stoner Williams in 2008; and his daughter Jeanne Carroll Williams in 2009. He is survived by his daughter, Marleen Williams of East Palatka, FL; son Richard N. Williams of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11am Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Shrine Hospital.
