Patricia Schwartz Goldberg died on July 19, 2025. She was a native and life-long resident of Jacksonville. She is predeceased by her husband, Irwin “Bud” Goldberg, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Tom Averette, Jacksonville; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Belinda Goldberg, of Melbourne, Fla.; 5 grandchildren, Jason and Danielle Averette and Travis, Timothy and Tyler Goldberg; 1 great-grandson, Shane Averette; nieces, Darlene Gove and Diane Richardson, 1 nephew, Danny Stumph and several cousins.
After meeting in Los Angeles, Pat and Bud returned to Jacksonville where they were married in 1957. While raising her family, Pat spent many years as a volunteer in various organizations. She was a member of Congregation Ahavath Chesed (The Temple), serving on the Board of Trustees, a Past President of the Temple Sisterhood; a member of the Jewish Community Council Board and its Women’s Division. Her interest in mental health led to years of working on the Mental Health Forum through The Nat’l Council of Jewish Women and the Mental Health Ass’n.. of Jax. Pat spent as much time as possible with her family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at noon in the Garden of King David at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
