Patrick Henry O’Neill, age 66, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2017. He was born on March 23, 1951 in Dubois, PA, the son of Patrick Hugh and Shirley Ferdinando O’Neill. He graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Patrick, better known by loved ones and friends as Pat, was an avid fan of all Temple sports, as well as the NFL, college basketball, major league baseball and thoroughbred horse racing. He also enjoyed golf, and for several years, was dedicated to physical fitness, exercising daily with bike rides and walks. Spiritual development was also important to Pat, and he routinely concentrated on that as a devout Roman Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Above all else, however, his primary interests were centered on ensuring his loving wife, son and daughter, and two grandchildren were provided for properly - a practice at which he simply excelled. Because of this accomplishment, he will surely rest in peace. Pat will be missed by his wife of 42 years, Denise Donchak O’Neill; children, Melissa O’Neill Cooper and Patrick Hugh O’Neill; son-in-law, Kevin Cooper; future daughter-in-law, Sara Blajian; grandchildren, Dylan Cooper and Donovan Cooper; brother, Mike O’Neill; sister, Peggy Busse; mother, Shirley Carrie O’Neill; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Hugh O’Neill. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, October 3 from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
