

On August 20, 2025, Philomena (Phyllis) Hartley McDuffie passed from this earthly life surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Evelyn and Adolphus Hartley, where she spent most of her life. To know Phyllis, was to feel love. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a caretaker by nature. Her pure heart and generous nature were evident in everything she did.
To those that loved Phyllis most, her loss will be felt forevermore. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Norman McDuffie, her parents, her brothers: Phil (twin brother), David, and Willard, and her sisters, Harriet and Beverly. Phyllis leaves behind her children Terri Brown, Evelyn (Leland) Allen, and Jimmy (Melissa) McDuffie; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren with two on the way; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be dearly missed, and may her memory be eternal.
A memorial service for Philomena will be held Saturday, September 6th, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME PA, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32211. A graveside committal service will occur Monday, September 8th, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
