Ramona Peterson

Ramona aka Romona Arlene Peterson, born September 29, 1929, in Elk Horn, Iowa, was greeted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on September 28, 2025. Preceded in death by her parents Harry Ernest Peterson and Agneta Marie Hansen. Survived by her nephew Dale Peterson, niece Gracie Wallace, Gracie's husband Kevin Wallace, Gracie's children: her grandnephew Matt Joiner, her grandniece Michelle Stahl, her grandniece Lauren Franco, her grandniece Ashley Stahl, Ashley's husband Kevin Kangethe, Ashley's children: her great-grandniece Hayden Stahl, her great-grandnephew Adrian Kangethe, her great-grandnephew Ethan Kangethe, her great-grandniece Amelia Kangethe, all of Jacksonville, Florida; Dale's children: her grandniece Kimberly Peterson, her grandniece Jennifer Gordon, her grandnephew Kevin Peterson, Kevin's children: her great-grandnephew Conrad Peterson, her great-grandnephew Ace Peterson, her grandnephew Keith Peterson, Keith's children: great-grandniece Emma Clark, great-grandnephew Jack Peterson.

Ramona was recently an active member of Deermeadows Baptist Church; prior to that Ortega Baptist Church, prior to that over 50 years at Main Street Baptist all of Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated with honors with her Master’s in Education from Jacksonville University. She taught at elementary schools throughout Jacksonville for 28 years. She was a Sunday School teacher, always served on various church committees and VBS, plus touched hundreds of people’s lives through her service and constant generosity and kindness. She enjoyed travel as she drove throughout the US, visiting relatives and attending cousins’ reunions. She will be greatly missed by many who loved her, yet she left us with many memories of a faithful and amazing lady.

A graveside service will be held at the Restlawn Memorial Park, 2600 Ribault Scenic Drive, on Thursday October 2, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Deermeadows Baptist Church 9780 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL.
