Ray A. Chesser Sr.

Ray Allen Chesser, Sr., 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 24th, 2011. He was born on April 15th, 1927 in Waycross, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the City of Jacksonville in 1990 after 43 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jeanette Chesser and his children Donnice Moore, Vikee Jones, Ray Allen Chesser Jr. and Michael (Hope). He has six grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday,11:00am, October 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home.
