

After graduating Fort Meade Fl High School in 1960 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served 3 years in Japan with the Army Security Agency. After returning from Japan, he attended the University of Florida and received a BS in Advertising. He had a long and successful career in Sales and Sales Management. He loved spending time with his family and always had a story to tell with a big smile on his face. His favorite hobby was cheering on his beloved Florida Gators. He was affectionately known as “Gramps” by his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Charles (Chuck) Albritton.
Survivors include his son Lance Albritton; granddaughters Hannah (Kory) Sanders, Skylar Albritton, Lindsay Albritton; great-grandchildren Carolina, Casen Sanders and Malakai Clark, all of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Penny Albritton and niece, Kristin (Andrew) Pickelsimer with Holt & Noah of Cummings, GA; niece, Ashlie (Russ) Zusi with Andrew & Davis of Charlotte, NC and his best friend of over 60 years James (Jim) Runton of Ocala, FL.
A graveside service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Historical Society of Fort Meade, FL or the Kappa Alpha Order Scholarship Fund.
