Robert “Okie” Atkinson passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Community Hospice Hadlow Center for caring. He was born in Frenchburg, Kentucky on November 22, 1940. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judith, his daughters Tamela Davis and Lisa Atkinson and 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor. Bob was a God fearing Christian man, devoted husband and father. He was a corpsman in the U. S. Marines during Vietnam and also in the U. S. Navy Reserves. He was a baseball coach for many years. He owned Boardwalk Mortgage Company and also worked in the radio as “Bargain Bob” at WJXR and WQIK. He attended Hogan Baptist Church for many years. A memorial service will be held with full military honors at 10:30 am, Monday, June 22, 2015 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Arrangements are being handled by Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.
