

Robert Frank Uible D.D.S “Bob” passed away peacefully into the arms of his heavenly father at home after a brief illness due to Leukemia (T Cell-all). He was faithfully surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Cincinnati Ohio on April 13, 1931 to Frank Clifford Uible and Mildred Seery Uible.
The family moved to Jacksonville when Bob was seven years of age. He was a graduate of Landon High school where he made and has kept through the years many friends. He loved and excelled therein the game of basketball. He went on to Emory at Oxford College in Covington, Georgia after which he graduated from Emory University Dental School in Atlanta, Georgia with a degree in Dentistry. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Dentist serving in Heidelberg, Germany. He rose to the rank of Captain. After being discharged he returned home and entered the Emory University school of Orthodontics graduating in 1959. For Dr. Uible Orthodontics was the lifelong profession he excelled in and dedicated selfless service too. He was extremely caring, compassionate, proficient and creatively talented. With that said, he was humble and modest always giving the credit to others while still gently leading and encouraging others.
Bob was a great fan of sports, Tennis, golf, football, especially animals of all kinds. He loved his home on the St. Johns River and the many beautiful sunsets. He was a proud member of Southside Rotary Club for almost 50 years joining around the age of 30. He was a past President of N.E. District Dental Society Life and Life time member of Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch (Builder’s Club) He lived by the rotary 4-way test; is it the truth? Is it fair for all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? He was a rotary Paul Harris fellow and he also gave that honor to his wife Linda. Bob was a long time member of San Jose country club at which he was an avid golfer and earlier tennis player. He loved the game and the friends and workers there that he was able to have great times with. He was also a member of Ponte Vedra Country Club, the River Club and the University Club and member of the Jacksonville Symphony, Florida Theatre, and many other local organizations. The family owned and enjoyed a mountain cabin for summer and fall vacations in tuxedo, North Carolina just outside of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Bob took great pride being with nature surrounded by the beautiful forest. Bob and his family truly enjoyed so many memoriable and happy times at the cabin surrounded by the woods that he loved.
Bob was truly a devoted family man. Bob is survived by his blessed wife of almost 38 years, Linda, his loving children Cynthia Uible Bryson (John) Robert F. Uible, Jr. (Karen) David F. Uible and Chase M. Barry (Linda) Grandchildren Kristie Uible, Kelsie Uible, Ethan Barry. Brother “Jack” John D. Uible (Mary Jane), Niece Beth Morris (Billy), Brother-in-law David A. Appleby. Cherished pets Dixie, Buffy, Augie, Bristol, Lady Ann, and Bird Cruz. Bob should be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, caring and nurturing father and grandfather, loving brother and thoughtful passionate friend to so many through the years. He was a true gentleman, a man of great character and faith in our Lord almighty. He was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. There will be a service for Bob at Southside United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. There will be a visitation with family before the service at 1:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The Uible Family requests that donations In Memory of Dr Robert F Uible be made to the American Cancer society, Leukemia Society, Jacksonville Humane society, Southside United Methodist Church, Disabled American Veterans, The Bridge of N.E Florida.
