Robert Shannon Doty, 47, was born on November 19, 1969, in Fairfax County, VA, to Ronald and Shirley H. Doty. He passed away at home unexpectedly on September 17, 2017. He is survived by his mother; Shirley, his sister; Sharon Backert, two nieces and their husbands; Brooke and Tom Robinson, Lindsey and Paul Bearden, one great-niece, and two great-nephews. He also leaves several aunts and cousins. Robert was a world traveler, having visited over 70 countries, both for business and for his own benefit. He had many friends all over the world, many of which he gained during the 20+ years he lived and sailed abroad his beloved Candide. He was a valued consultant and representative for the companies by which he was employed. He touched many lives in positive ways, making lasting impressions. He made a difference. His heart was in teaching, he was a voracious reader and had a thirst for knowledge that he loved to share. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 11:00 am in Lake Shore Baptist Church, 2363 Blanding Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32210.
