Robert L. Janes

Robert L. Janes, 67, went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2015. He was born in Bardstown, KY. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps where he completed a tour in Vietnam. Bob was a business owner of Tech Packaging Inc. specializing in contract packaging for 25 years. He moved to Jacksonville in 1990. Bob was a member of Turning Point at Calvary Church in Saint Augustine. He was an avid hunter, loved to travel, and had a great love for his family and the Lord. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Margaret Janes; sister, Julianne; and son, Chad. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Sims Janes; son, Todd (Lisa); daughter, Valerie Howard (Marcus); grandchildren, Kyle Janes, Mackenzie Janes; and sister, Betty Carol Duncan (Hank). Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, September 22, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 12pm. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oaklawn Cemtery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Community Hospice of NE Florida.
