Robert Fulton Minshall, age 90, died peacefully on September 2, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy (Bland) Minshall. Bob is survived by his daughters Susan (Minshall) Thomas and Carolyn Minshall, son in law Tim Thomas, grandchildren Kyle and Shelby Thomas, and numerous relatives in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Bob was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Elsie and Edward Morton Minshall. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, spending his career with Joy Manufacturing and Cooper Industries, first in Michigan City, Indiana, and then in Jacksonville, Florida. Bob was an avid, and fiercely competitive, outdoor sportsman, enjoying fresh and deep-water fishing, hunting, and trap shooting. One of his favorite activities was an annual hunting trip to Nebraska, which he organized for more than 40 years – with friends from all over the eastern United States gathering annually to rekindle old friendships and build new ones. His indoor hobbies included woodworking, and clock and watch repair. He was known for his generosity and loyalty to his relatives and numerous friends, and for the many years that he took care of Dottie as her health declined.
