

Robert Clifton Nelson, III passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 3, 2014. Always reaching for the stars, Bob was an avid astronomer and rocketeer. He was an Astrophysics major and a Phi Kappa Phi Honor graduate of the University of South Florida. Among his many achievements, Bob worked with the Apollo/Saturn V missions as a process control programmer. He enjoyed electronics design, being a ham radio operator and searching the Heavens through his telescopes.
He leaves behind his loving sister, Sandra Nelson Conner (John); nephew, John Conner, III; nieces, Lori Kadziolka and Marilyn James; uncle, John D. Nelson (Dee); and several grandnephews, a grandniece, and numerous cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Alice Nelson Cope and parents, Robert Nelson, Sr. and Olivia Brobston Nelson of Jacksonville, Florida.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at The Oaklawn Chapel on Monday, September 8th, 2014 at six o’clock in the evening, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
