

born on July 29, 1940, in Matanzas, Cuba, to Ricardo Luis Guerrero and Caridad Fausta Guerrero Alvarez. Roger immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southwest Louisiana. His career as a professional engineer took him to various locations, including St. Louis, MO where he met his beloved wife, Janet Davis Guerrero.
Over the years, he also worked in Fairfax, VA; Greenville, SC; Florence, SC; Jacksonville, FL; and Stuart, FL, before retiring in Jacksonville. A devoted husband of 62 years, Roger always put his family first. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet; his daughters, Judie Guerrero Andrews (Tommie), Maria Guerrero Faunce (Bill), Ana Guerrero Butensky, and Lisa Guerrero Krason; his grandchildren, Caridad Faunce Sperry (Hayes), Izaak Butensky, Daniel Faunce, Samantha Butensky, Emily Faunce, Andrew “AJ” Faunce, Faith Krason, and Leah Krason; and his great-granddaughter Logan Sperry. He is also survived by his nephew Oscar Torres (Vivian) and niece Martha Guerrero Beever (John). Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ricardo Luis Guerrero (Teresa); his sister Aimee Guerrero Torres (Oscar); and nieces Teresa Guerrero and Aimee Torres Michels.
A passionate baseball fan, Roger especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals. Having survived a rare cancer, he was committed to supporting research efforts to help find a cure. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3383 University Blvd N, Jacksonville, Florida 32277 on July 29th, 2025, at 11 a.m.
