Roger Lee Morgan was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 28, 1953 to Ruth and Jack Morgan. After a valiant battle with a lengthy illness, he passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 with those he loved by his side.
Roger was raised in Jacksonville FL, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School and attended Florida State College at Jacksonville.
When he was in his early 20's Roger opened an antique and furniture refinishing business, Furniture Service Center, which later evolved into Mandarin Antiques. He was highly sought after for his beautiful refinishing work. After many years in the antique business he decided to take a different direction and started a window covering installation business. Like with the antique business, he had many loyal customers and decorators.
From the time Roger was a young teen he loved to surf and continued to into his 60's. His son Matt was his best surfing buddy and they went on many surfing trips together, including South Florida and Costa Rica. He also enjoyed going to the mountains, hiking, and being out in nature. Roger was a true artist at heart and liked creating things. When he was a teen he started making surfboards. He liked doing artwork and had a skillful eye for color, detail and perspective.
Left to cherish Roger's memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Kimberly, and their son Matthew (Hannah). He is also survived by his brothers Vic Morgan (Debi) and David Morgan (Ellie).
Always smiling, always kind, Roger had a lightness and easy way about him that people were drawn to. He was loved by all who knew him and an inspiration to each of us. He will be so dearly missed.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 12236 Mandarin Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or the charity of your choice.
