Better known as Ron or Ronnie and Pop-Pop, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Crystal Swingler, his grandsons Benjamin and Isaac, ex-wife Kristina Swingler, sister and brother-in-law Vala and Randy Journigan. He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Judith and his younger son Brian Swingler.
Ron proudly served in the United States Army in Panama and Honduras. He was a skilled carpenter and had a passion for fishing and hunting.
After living most of his life in Virginia Beach, later moved to Jacksonville to be closer to his family.
Ron always wanted to travel the seas and finally made that dream a reality on 2022. He accomplished his goal and had joined the Seafarers Union and was in Taiwan when he became unwell and had to return.
Ron had a gift of gab and lived life on his terms. Ron's family and friends will always remember how much he loved us all and always taught us to live life to the fullest.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hgmandarin.com for the Swingler family.
