Ruth Cook Sidbury

Prior to retirement Ruth was a Plant Assigner for BellSouth, beginning in Charlotte, North Carolina and then in Jacksonville, FL for 35 years.

She was an active member of the Southside Women’s Club and served as past Director of the Miss Jacksonville, Miss River City and Outstanding Team Scholarship Pageants.

She is survived by one daughter Debbie Prado (Bob) of Jacksonville, FL and two sons, Robin Sidbury (Cheryl) of Jacksonville, FL and Donald Sidbury Jr. (Jane) of Hawthorne, FL She is also survived by one brother, Clinton O. Joyner of Oak Island, NC, six grandchildren, Alison, Stephanie, Kathryn, Matthew, Kristopher and Candice, and three great-grandchildren Dylan, Payton and Wyatt.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday July 18, 2015 in the St. Nicholas Room at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Family requests that donations in Ruth’s honor be given to Community Hospice of North East Florida or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in Jacksonville.
