She was born in Maywood, IL, on May 11, 1932, to Brodie Price and Lydia Radoy Price.
As a child, Ruth attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Melrose Park, IL through 8th
grade and graduated from Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL in 1950. She also took
additional college level secretarial courses. She married James P Warner (deceased), on
October 11, 1957. Ruth raised their six children while also working full time as a secretary and
paralegal. She was also an accomplished seamstress, specializing in bridal and evening wear,
as well as skating outfits. Later in her widowhood, Ruth was fortunate to meet Frank Dovelle
(deceased), who became her devoted partner for over 20 years. They enjoyed traveling
together, especially cruising on Princess Cruise Lines.
Her hobbies included competitive roller skating in the 1950’s and a deep love for big band and
swing music. She never turned down an opportunity to get dressed up and kick up her heels as
she loved to dance. She was also a talented artist, painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolors.
Ruth was predeceased by three of her children, Pamela Pojack [Joe], Henry Warner [Sally], and
Philip Warner. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Warner Fifield [Lee] of Jacksonville, FL,
Christine Wallin of St. Clair Shores, MI, and Carolyn Viviani [Mike] of Jacksonville, FL. Ruth also
had 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren living all across the country. We would like to
express our gratitude to Vitas Hospice for their care and continued support as our family grieves
the loss of our beloved Ruthie.
