Sandra G Foster

Sandra is survived by her daughters, Erika Stroup and Tara Peterson of Jacksonville, FL; Sister, Donna Foster of Fairfax, VA; Grandson, Tyler Martin and Granddaughter, Samantha Stroup. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jerry Foster, of Neptune Beach, FL.

Sandra was born on March 14, 1940 in Columbia, SC to Morris and Wilma Foster. She is an alumni of Jacksonville University. She married Jerry Foster, her first love, in 1962. After moving back to Neptune Beach, FL, Sandra began working for the Duval County School Board as an English Teacher. Her daughters will always remember her as a strong Christian woman, who was kind and gentle and who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Sandra was a well respected teacher of English and Literature. She was a humble individual who loved God and her church family and who was passionate about helping others.

She was an active and dedicated member of the Good News Baptist Church and often volunteered at The Foster Closet.

A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Saturday, 1/17/2015 at Good News Baptist Church, 2600 St. John's Bluff Rd, Jacksonville, FL, 32246. Rev. Steve Bailey will officiate the ceremony.
