

Jacksonville, FL., after battling 5 separate cancers over 16 years, and finally being overcome by
subcutaneous metastatic melanoma. Sandra was a fierce and determined patient in the fight against
cancer.
Born in Valdosta, GA, she was raised in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Forrest High School,
and worked as a dental assistant, she also managed Co-op Beverage Dist., Office Manager, Licensed
E.M.T., Volunteer Special Deputy, Jacksonville sheriff's office.
Loving wife, devoted Mother and Step-Mother, she was a member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church.
Her hobbies included Basket Weaving, Wedding Cakes, Birds and Flowers.
Sandy was an unconditionally loving person. She was preceded in death by her Father, W.H. Chance Sr.,
her Mother, Edna Elizabeth Williams, her Brother, W.H. Chance the third.
Survived by her Brother, Stephen Chance, her Sister, Phyllis Palmer, her Sister, Suzanne Chance, her
Husband, Gary St. John Sr., her Son, Matthew St. John, Step-sons, Paul St. John, and James St. John,
Six Grandchildren, and two Great Grandchildren.
Family would like to thank Mrs. Nancy Harbin, Ms. Lisa Bird, friends and care providers and Community
Hospice, Hadlow Care Center, for exceptional care, compassion and support to Sandra during her
illnesses.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, located at 1718 State Road 13, St. Johns, FL 32259, on October 8, 2020 at 11:00am with Rev. Dilip C. Pally, and Deacon Stan Boschert as Celebrants.
