Sara Pearson Chriss

Sara Pearson Chriss, age 88, passed away peacefully July 4, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center South. She was born November 19, 1925 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Ernest and Julia Pearson. In 1951, Sara married George S. Chriss, and upon his completion of medical school, they started a practice and family in Jacksonville. In addition to lovingly raising their three children, Sara enjoyed playing golf, cards, traveling and was a compassionate caregiver to many family members. She was a resident of River Garden Hebrew Home.

Sara was predeceased by her husband, Dr. George S. Chriss, her sisters, Mildred Pearson and Elizabeth Pearson and her brother, Dr. Lamar Pearson. She is survived by her children: George Chriss, Jr. (Lynne) of Fort Worth, FL; Julia Norton (Roger) of Jacksonville, FL; and David Chriss (Jennifer) of Tampa, FL; her brother William Pearson (Frances) of Douglasville, GA; her sister-in-law Susan Pearson of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law Christ Christopoulos (Mary) of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren George, Jessica and Robert Chriss, Lane Norton, and Warren, Graham and Matthew Chriss; and a number of other relatives and close friends, whom she loved dearly.
