On March 5th, 2020, Scott James Steffan quietly departed this world to join our heavenly father surrounded by his loving family and friends. A truly selfless and caring man of faith, he was a Knight of Malta, a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre, a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, as well as a Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. As a result of his generous spirit and helpful nature, Scott was beloved by many. He was devoted to a Christian life of service and helped many in need. He had an amazing talent and capacity to teach others.
Son of Herman Walter and Lavinia Ada Gwendolyn (Jones) Steffan, Scott was born in 1957 in London, England. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s of Chemical Engineering and from Jacksonville University with a Master’s of Business Administration. Scott worked for Lockheed Martin at Cape Canaveral as a test engineer in support of the Space Shuttle program and has had a diverse career in Jacksonville as an Enterprise Architect over the past 30 years. Scott very much enjoyed playing board games. He did so because he not only loved playing them with family and friends but also studying how they worked. That allowed him to fulfill his lifelong great love for learning.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Trina Hall Steffan; his beloved daughter Christin (Adam) Parise and son Lane Steffan; his beloved grandchildren, Asher, Ava, and Carter Parise; his mother Lavinia Steffan; and his twin brother Steven Steffan.
