

Sean James Thompsen, age 43, passed away on June 13, 2016. He was born March 15, 1973 in Ithaca, NY, the son of Virginia Ann Eddy Thompsen and the late Steven Craig Thompsen. Sean received his B.S. degree from Canisius College, in Buffalo, NY. He went on to receive flight training and Certification from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, in Daytona Beach, FL. Sean and his family moved between Buffalo and Jacksonville before settling in the Jacksonville area. Sean was an Aviation Enforcement Agent for the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection. He was an avid sports fan, taking special interest in Formula One racing, hockey and lacrosse. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach, fishing, and anything to do with aviation. Sean is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Kathy, their children, Jack (8) and Nora (4) and dog, Finn; mother, Ginny; brother, Brian Thompsen; sisters, Amy Thompsen, Kara Thompsen (Chris Hodge) and their children, Max and Vaughn; father-in-law, Bill Devine; mother-in-law, Carol Devine; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Leeann) Devine and their children, Parker and Garrett, Brian (Gina) Devine and their children, Brady and Emily; grandmother-in-law, Dorothy Devine; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A N. Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
