

Seymour Cohn of Jacksonville passed away from pneumonia and organ failure on the morning of April 18, 2016 at the age of 78. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 6, 1937 to Leon and Diana Cohn. Seymour was an entrepreneur who owned and operated a diversity of businesses from liquor stores, restaurants, and gambling tourism to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Mississippi. Some of his businesses included the Greyhound Bar, the Riviera Bar, the Sands Liquors, the Someplace Else, the Happy Buddha, and the Miramar Bar. He also ran gambling junkets to the Trump Casinos, always a man of action who loved life to the fullest.
He graduated from Landon High School and attended Jacksonville Junior College where he played basketball and baseball, and joined the U.S. Army to serve his country.
Seymour was married to Betty Cohn for over 45 years and is survived by her and their daughter Sherry Cohn. Other surviving family members include his brother, Jerry (Wife Kathy); son-in-law’s, Allen (Wife Angie) and Robert (Wife Rochelle) Taylors. Grandchildren were Rebecca and Joseph Taylor; and Hunter and Joshua Black. Nieces: Sarah Cohn and Susan (Cohn) Kelly.
His funeral will take place at 11:00 am at the New Jewish Center Cemetery, 43rd Liberty Streets (Evergreen Cemetery) on Wednesday on April 20, 2016 with Rabbi Howard Tilman officiating.
