Sharon S. Osburn

Sharon Sue Osburn (Cahill) of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Baptist South Medical Center in Jacksonville on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Sharon was born and raised in Louisville, KY and attended Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville. She later relocated briefly to Dickson, TN. It was there that she married James Howard Osburn. They both graduated from Charlotte High School, Charlotte, TN.

Sharon loved homemaking, doing yardwork & gardening, and was the greatest of stay-at-home Mothers for many years before starting a long career in childcare. Many lives were then touched and changed by her presence in that field. She was a blessing to all of the children and parents who were fortunate enough to walk through the doors of her workplace. Her love for her own children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all other family members was the “glue” that formed a unique and special multi-generational bond. That bond is cherished today, and will be passed down for generations to come.

Predeceased by her husband, James Osburn, father, William Patrick Cahill Jr, 3 brothers, William Cahill III, Daniel Cahill, and Patrick Cahill. She is survived by her mother, Ginette Marguarite Cahill, 3 brothers, Charles Cahill, Michael Cahill, and Darrell Cahill, 3 sisters, Lillian Ford, Jocelyn Payne, and Patricia Siegrist; 3 children, Lisa Kutzer, James Osburn and Michael Osburn; 9 grandchildren, Alexis, Jamie, Matthew, Austin, Carrie, Francesca, Dale, Priscilla, and Harper; 2 great-grandchildren, Tanner and Ashlyn and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 6th in Southside Baptist Church 1435 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Memorials are preferred to Ronald McDonald House, 824 Childrens Way, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
