Sherry Lee Willis Tayara, born May 1, 1955 in Springfield, MO, died May 31, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee Willis and Kellon Avery DeCaro. She is survived by her husband Adnan, her brother Robert (Sue), her son Lee (Lauren), her daughter Stephanie (Alex), as well as extended family in North Carolina, Florida and Illinois.
After growing up in Greensboro, NC, she worked various customer oriented positions while independently caring for her children before settling in Jacksonville to fulfill a lifelong dream of living near the ocean, where she had a penchant for reading and being caught in rip currents. Sherry was a woman who spent her life looking out for the underdog without ever acknowledging that she was herself an underdog.
The family will receive friends at St. Ephrem Syriac Catholic Church, 4650 Kernan Blvd S, Jacksonville on Saturday, June 4 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in her honor.
