

Stephen was born on January 26, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida, to his father Gordon Mott and his late mother Bobbie Franklin. A life-long native of Jacksonville, Stephen was known for his steady presence, kind heart, and his deep devotion to his family. He took great pride in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He found the greatest joy in time spent with those he loved and being an avid fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Volunteers. Stephen will be remembered most for his warmth, his quite strength, and the love he freely gave.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kelly Mott; his two sons, Kevin Mott and wife Celia Mott, and Zachary Mott and wife Katelin Mott; and his daughter, Meagan Mott. He is forever cherished by his five grandsons, Tommy Gerstner, Andrew Mott, John Mott, William Mott, and Rowan Noonan. Stephen is also survived by his father, Gordon Mott and wife Mary Lou Mott; his brother, Mike Mott and wife Marilyn Mott; and his sister, Michele McElroy and husband Scott McElroy. Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Meade.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Stephen’s life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 12:00pm at Aspire Church, located at 1435 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
